Sunday, 16 March 2008 Kiama ride it started for me about 7:15am by 8:00am we had a small group of riders and a pillion rider and set off from Seven Hills. We rode through the suburbs to Loftus and entered the Royal National Park for the ride to Stanwell Tops and stopped for a brake and to take in the view. We set off again along the cost road to Kiama when we got to Kiama we went to the Blow Hole to check out the action but nothing was happening because of a flat sea but there was plenty of people around and lots of other bike riders. Now it was time for lunch so we went to our favourite place for lunch. They have, for some years provided a very nice $7.00 steak dinner which was very good value. But today (have you heard of the pub with no beer) well this was a pub with no food. Well actually they had a private function on and the restaurant was closed till 1:00pm. We did not won’t to wait an hour so we went to one of the cafes down the road where we had a nice lunch at a reasonable price, and unfortunately the $7.00 steak dinner has gone up to $10.00 but that would still be very good value. We were disappointed at not being able to lunch at the Grand Hotel on this ride but we will have lunch there again on our next ride to Kiama if you want to check them out this is their website http://www.grandhotelkiama.com.au/ after leaving Kiama we went to the look out at Saddleback Mountain, what a great view well worth the trip. From there it is a very good ride to Robertson, we had decided to stop for a coffee so we stopped at Chats Cafe & Restaurant in Robertson. From there we had a good ride to Eastern Creek and stopped to say goodbye till next time. For me it was a great days riding and great company.
